The Vow

"Life's all about moments of impact and how they change our lives forever"...  That was what Leo (Channing Tatum) said in "The Vow" the movie I watched recently.

We missed the very first part of the movie because we didn't manage our time well, and the parking space at Wangsa Walk wasn't helping at all.  It was raining and packed!  So my hub dropped me off to pick the ticket we purchased online and to buy some snacks.  He had to park our car so far from the mall.

I feel so connected to this movie.  The pretty Rachel McAdams carries a character that used to be so close to myself... Someone who is supportive, positive, has deep passion in her art and her kinda music, brave and has lotsa guts... She left her perfect life to be who she wanted to be and who she wanted to be with rather than what people wanted her to be until she lost her memory in a terrible car accident...

While watching the movie,  my memories of who I was before popped up in my head.  Suddenly I feel like I have lost so much of my old self and it felt really sad...  I hate to admit but I cried watching all the sad scenes.  I used to be so BRAVE and never scared of what people think about me, never scared of the consequences.  And now I think I am less positive, I am less supportive of people that I love, and my passion towards arts and music is GONE. Why? Enough said, yeah I have totally changed! For better I hope... : (

Back to the movie, I love the Vow so much. It's REALISTIC romantic drama. It is based on a true story anyway. It's the sweet but sad movie that has my highest recommendation which I want to watch it again... I give super 10 SWEET STARS outta 10.

Some of the beautiful clips...

The Hunger Games

Recently my lovely babe invited me to go watch premier screening << The Hunger Games>>.  Sadly never heard of it although its novel is HOT and HYPE right now since I had not sibuk2 to look for the latest updates on movies or novels.  Until we watched the movie only we know it's the science fiction action drama film based on the novel written by Suzanne Collins. The Twilight novel pun took ages for me to finish reading, so I dare not be so ambitious to take another trilogy novel to read.

SYNOPSIS

Set in the future, 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen is living with her mother and little sister in what's left of North America, in one of 12 districts all being run by the Capitol. Despite mastering the skill of hunting and trapping edible plants, Katniss still struggles to keep her family from going hungry.

Each year, the names of all residents between the ages of 12 and 18 are entered into a lottery and two names, one girl and one boy, are chosen at random from each district to compete in the televised Hunger Games. The 24 children must try to kill each other off and the last one standing is rewarded by the Capitol with a feast of food.

When her little sister's name is selected, Katniss steps up to take her place in the deadly competition.

This movie is similar to a "Survivor" reality game show but in a darker side as these young teenagers are required to kill one another in order to stay alive and  win.  It's absolutely not suitable for kids cos it's too violent for them. Kids killing other kids in bloodsport TV is heavy.

The leading actress, Jennifer Lawrence is not only pretty but she portrays a strong young girl with strong surviving skills though. She's good! :)

Apart from being a violent movie, there are still touching situations of love and sacrifices for the loved ones especially family particularly sisters.

I give the Hunger Games 7 stars out of 10. :)

Jack and Jill the Movie

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
taken from heraldsun.com.au
I went to watch the latest Adam Sandler's movie, "Jack and Jill" yesterday.  In this movie, Jack is the cool brother who feels embarrassed to have a sweaty and ugly twin Sister, Jill.  He played for both roles.  But the movie was a bit dull and disgusting with lame and impolite jokes.  Yeah, I did laugh with the rest of the audience but that was that.  Nothing was great about it perhaps only 1 thing, Al-Pacino who is known of his usual serious work and performance dare to take up a comedy scene as a supporting actor (which wasn't even that funny).  There's a message about love, life, and family values at the end of it but it was not as good as 50 First Dates. In fact it was a bit insulting.  Rate: 2/10.

Scene that captured my attention only was when Jack picked Jill up at the airport and saw her with loads and loads of big bags and boxes.  Well reminds me of ME who does not know how to travel light all my life! Kalau boleh nak bawak satu bilik and the whole bathroom OK! : )  And I like the line from Jill:

"I'd rather have it and not need it,
than to need it and not have it..."

 Doinkk!!! So true!!!

Sherlock Holmes ~ Game of Shadows

taken from www.celebuzz.com

When everybody is goin' crazy and can't wait to watch Robert Downey Jr. to embody the Sherlock Holmes character,  I was very very very keen to watch my hero ~ Jude Law... Owh Dr. Watson, I'm crazy aboutcha!  hahahhaaaa... Over kaannn...

Frankly speaking, the movie needs someone with high intellectual to be able to understand the whole thing.  It's a bit boring though for someone yang as simple as me.  So Bimbo kaan... ;P  I like towards the ending part only when it really gave me hope to stay and intrigue of how this movie will end.  I also like the witty scripts, which I found quite funny.  Although I hardly remember the first one, but I remember that it was better and even more entertaining!.  My rate for this movie: 5/10.

However, Jude Law's still the hottie!!!

Breaking Dawn Part 1 VS Ombak Rindu

Last few weeks, I organised a movie night out for the company.  We went to watch the Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1 at GSC Pavillion.  One of the movies I really couldn't wait to watch.  It started when my ex-colleague once told me that she was fully immersed herself in the story while reading the novel until she dreamed about it.  Then another colleague told me how amazing she felt after watching the first twilight. Since that I've been following all 3 series of the Twilight Saga, and now I have watched the 4th one.  Breaking Dawn Part 1, the best thing I found was the wedding.  Beautiful set, beautiful dress, beautiful bride and handsome groom! Like an all time wedding dream...

So beautiful kan?  Lg satu yg  best was their honeymoonie. Seriously romantic, with the ocean, the waterfall.  Argghh... Canteknya!!! But overall the story line was a bit slow.  Rating: 6/10. :)

Just now, me and Mr. Hubby took Mama to go watch the awaited "Ombak Rindu", another movie adaptation from a local novel. Sedih lah... Menitis jugak airmata especially when it touches about the love and sacrifices between a husband and a wife.  Yang ni memang bessstt... Tapi yg kelakarnya, tgh feeling2 sedey, Mr. Hubby boleh nguap berkali2.  Biaselah dia kalau bukan action movie, mulalah dia nantuk kaann... Nasib baik dia pun ala2 romantic jugak... But with his own sweet ways la kaaann... Hehehe... I haven't read its novel but I can totally understand the whole story.  May be it looks a bit chopped here and there but it was still good, perhaps not as good as the novel though.  I love the breathtaking scenery of the beach and paddy field.  While mama kept on saying that the house is beautiful.  It's totally Malaysian, totally "Malay Movie" with good quality.  The couple is as romantic as the twilight's couple.  Rating: 9/10. :)

Both are the adaptation movie of novels.  Both are also a romantic drama genre.  Both played at beautiful locations.  Both are also about husband and wife. But I think, Ombak Rindu has touched my heart deeper. :')

In Time

taken from happyfreebees.com

My sweetheart has not been feeling well for a week already.  Since things in the office are a bit slow, I decided to take Emergency Leave to accompany him at home at first.  But after we had lunch, we went to watch "In Time" instead... Unplanned!  Sometimes it turns out to be even more fun if it's unplanned!

Justin Timberlake and my favourite actress Amanda Seyfried being the lead actors is the reason why I picked "In time". It matches the current trend of our lives, when it is evolved with gadgets in this era of globalization.  It's a brilliant story that tells us about TIME is everything, it replaces money.  Who in the world would think that someday, somehow people will no more fight for money but people will fight for time ~ for living... Great twist right!!! Visit http://www.intimemovie.com/ for more info.

I found that this movie is the modern version of Robin Hood.  Time is stolen for a good cause.  It's all about what's happening around us, yang kaya - jadi kaya sangat tapi yang miskin terus tetap miskin... Tapi bukan miskin duit, in this movie, miskin masa...  The message ~ when we have plenty of time, the time should be distributed to those in need.  In reality, if we have a lot of money, we absolutely should share with those who are very less fortunate...

One more thing, when your life relies on time only, aging will not be an issue, tak payahlah makan jamu or collagen utk awet muda lagi, ;P  cos the lifetime is only up to 25 years old. Muka pun berseri2 macam muka org 25  tahun walaupun usia dah 85 tahun cos ade centuries of time to live...  Yg tak bestnya, you definitely know when you're going to die! : (

Bravo In time production team!!!  I'd give 9 big stars upon 10...

Cool As Ice

Terjumpe kawan lama... Kawan rapat giler mase sekolah dulu... Mase tgh cari identiti, masa tgh rebellious... Mase jiwa agak kacau... Heheheee...  Seronok jugak, teringat masa tu... Phase tu dah lame berlalu... Tapi biler jumpe dia balik, mcm2 memories yg dtg... Maklumlah baru nk kenal dunia, semua bende nak cuba... Alhamdulillah tak tersesat jauh peginye...

Paling teruk pun menari terkinja2... Hahaha... Siap tutup tingkap, tutup pintu, practice ramai2 dalam rumah, nari ikut step dia. Lawak betul... Menari ala2 Vanilla Ice Ice Babey...  Cerita psl Vanilla Ice... Uiisshh mmg pernah jatuh cinta ngan dia... Giler Macho! Giler hensem! Giler stylo! Especially after watching Cool As Ice... Yg tak tahan tu, kening dia... Sharp jaw line dia... Style rambut dia yg unique masa tu... Punye la tergila2 kat dia sampai terbawak2 dlm mimpi... Masetu dalam diam, simpan angan2 nak sgt jumpe dia... *blushed*

In the early 90's

Sanggup cari speck bulat mcm dia. Sanggup blaja ride motor kapcai sbb tgk dia jd such a cool biker... Jatuh motor pun takpe, janji dpt berangan bwk motor mcm Vanilla Ice. Hahahaaa...  Sanggup pakai baggy pants mcm dia... Sanggup buat jambul tinggi mcm dia... Cukur kening sket2 jer la ala2 kening dia.  Besar betul pengaruh dia...

2010.

Tapi kan, itulah tak boleh nak memuja2 sgt... Taksub sgt... Ape dah jadi? Nobody's perfect in this world.  Allah sahaja yg sempurna dari semua segi... Akhirnya dia terkandas sbb ciplak lagu Queen.  Terus jatuh tergolek... Syian dia... Tapi dia tetap hensem! Hehehehe...

Anyway, yg paling terkesan sampai jadi salah satu pegangan hidup bile Johnny (Vanilla Ice) cakap dalam Cool As Ice the movie:

"You ain't true to yourself, then you ain't true to nobody.
Live your life for someone else, then you ain't livin'.  Straight up fact."

Yup! Yup! Ya know!

Movie Marathon

What's the most popular dating place for KL people?.  What's the most popular thing to do with friends in KL?.  What's the most popular thing to do whenever you feel bored? When you have nothing to do, what would you do? I have the answer to all the above... MOVIE!!!  So today, we had Movie Marathon.

Movie Marathon tu ape ye? Watched MORE than one movie in a row I guess....  I am Number Four was not too bad.  Nothing much to say cos I can't wait to write about the next movie... Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa... Wow, it's crazy cool, the greatest movie from Yusry KRU.  It's really making me wanting to know more about the story of this tough guy... Who was MERONG MAHAWANGSA? I shall read about him soon.

Both weren't emotional movies.  And I'm glad I can save my tears for not dropping  over any of the movies today... : )  And lastly Stephen Rahman's super hawt!!!
